Travel Through Canada in Style

Traveling across Canada by train allows you to see untouched landscapes that very few people ever see…at a fraction of the price of traveling any other way.

Via Rail offers a Canrail Pass, which allows you to get on and off the train, as your fancy takes you, on a variety of Canadian routes over a 30-day period.

Actual train travel days are limited to 12-15 days within the allotted month, so pre-plan your destinations accordingly. During the off-season and shoulder-season periods (January to May and October to December), rates are very reasonable at under $550CAD, taxes included. Traveling during the peak summer season will cost more at almost $850CAD.

If you want to broaden your horizons across the Canada/USA border, take a look at the North America Rail Pass, where Via partners with Amtrak to give you even more freedom on the rails.

If one of the legs of your trip includes a multi-day long haul, consider upgrading to a berth. This privilege allows you to get horizontal for a good night’s sleep and provides you with three meals a day prepared by a red-seal chef and access to areas of the train and viewing cars that comfort-class passengers don’t get access to. You can purchase the upgrade from the ticket agent or on the train at a discount (if there is room).

Visit http://www.viarail.ca/canrailpass or http://www.viarail.ca/narp for more details and pricing. Then hop on the train and enjoy the luxurious and scenic ride of a lifetime.
